Benevolence Ministry

Our commitment to love and serve people

is expressed through benevolence

 

The PURPOSE of Benevolence:  to show God’s love to family, friends, and neighbors by meeting their needs through giving – of our money, time, and service.   As the Body of Christ, we desire to be used by God to meet these needs as He enables us.

 

 The PRIORITY of Benevolence:

• God's attitude toward the poor and oppressed

   (Ps. 10:14, 17-18; 35:10; 140:12;  146:5-9)

• Jesus' example (Matthew 25:34-40; 2 Cor. 8:9; Phil. 2:5-7)

• Early church example (Acts 2:44-45; 4:32-37; 5:1-11; 6:1-7)

 

The Church is an extension of God’s love, care, and grace to all in need, especially “the least of these”.  We see benevolence modeled for us in the Old Testament, by the Early New Testament church and by Jesus Himself.

 

The PROGRAM for Benevolence:

This ministry is designed to reach those within our church family, those outside of the church, and those in our community. We intend to supplement, not replace, existing channels of help by means of financial support, counseling, direction, support and prayer. 

 

The PROCESS for Benevolence:

To request assistance, please complete the Benevolence Request Form (please click the link). Requests forms are also located in the church office and may be obtained during normal business hours. A member of the Benevolence team will screen the application, verify the need, and then oversee the best course of action or response.

 

Afterwards, a phone call, email or appointment will be made to set up a time to communicate the steps if assistance is available to give.
